Mark Cammell has been passionate about cars all his life. He started his automotive career at age 13 with the custom build up of a high performance 1969 mustang. He spent 3.5 years in the vocational program at his high school building engines and automatic high-performance transmissions. He graduated from Pasadena city College Machine Shop Technology with awards.
He entered the professional world working solely on Cadillacs in Los Angeles. Upon moving to San Diego in 1985, he worked first as a mechanic for a BMW independent, then at a BMW dealership where he received formal training and acquired his BMW Training Certification.
Mark started his first company supplying mechanics and shops with tools and equipment. With experience and training in all areas of the repair business, Mark was well prepared to enter the automotive business with his own repair shop.
He had a strong vision for his company. It was important to Mark that his customers were treated the way that he would want to be treated. That meant integrity and trust — no unnecessary repairs, no cutting corners.
In 1991 Mark started AutoMasters and the quality of his work and reputation have built a solid business. Mark chooses to work alone because it allows him to offer a level of quality of work that he can feel proud of.
